Florence Cooking Class Making Pizza and Gelato
Description
- Ideal for the whole family to experience - the more the merrier
- A perfect activity to learn about the local food culture first-hand
- Unique experience - definitely something to write home about
Join this cooking class to be introduced to the history of two glorious Italian creations. Learn to prepare pizza and gelato just like Italians do!
Make pizza together with an experienced pizza chef, a pizzaiolo. You'll learn how to make tender, flexible yeast dough that stretches to almost paper-thinness, and even the trick for a flavourful yet light tomato sauce. Even if you bake pizza in your own oven, these techniques are universal and using them really makes a difference. With the pizzaiolo, you'll make your very own pizza, you'll stretch it, sauce it, bake it, slice it. It will be the best pizza you ever tasted, and you make it yourself!
The chef will tell you why gelato is Italy's favourite dessert, while giving an insight into the gelato culture that continues to evolve. You'll get to know the basic raw ingredients, how to select the best products available according to specific principles, and you will have a presentation and tasting of some of the flavours used in gelato making. You'll also learn about the development and application of natural colours, the heating and freezing techniques and how they have different effects on ingredients.
It is always a good day to discover the recipe for the world's most loved dessert! A booklet with recipes will guide you to cook for your friends once you get back home. And finally, get your certificate of participation!
