Dar Es Salaam City - Full-Day Tour
Description
Meet with our guide at 8am at the lobby of your hotel, and proceed to Kigamboni Bridge - a 680-meter-long bridge that connects the Dar es Salaam ward of Kurasini from the east to the west of Kigamboni district. Our first stop will be a visit to the Fish Market at Kigamboni - It is a trading spot for fish and seafood and great opportunity to witness the blending of cultures and business in a traditional Tanzanian setting. Afterwards, we will visit the Azania Front Lutheran Church which was built by German missionaries in 1898 - It's red- tile belfry rises above the surrounding rooftops and the whitewashed building is still a recognizable landmark in Dar es Salaam. Part of our tour is a visit to the National Museum located at Posta - it houses a gift shop and a United States Postal Service philatelic sales window. Then continue to Makumbusho village, this museum was established for the purpose of demonstrating and preservation of traditional cultures of Tanzania. Afterwhich, proceed to Mwenge woodcarvers market - a great place to buy souvenirs, known for its sculptures and wood carvings. Finally, a visit to the University of Dar es Salaam and Tingatinga Arts Co-operative Society, two interesting notable attractions to complete your visit of the city. At 5pm, we will move back to your hotel in Dar Es Salaam.
