Think Cuba and think cigars and rum. And this tour will introduce you to both commodities and give you an insight into how they've been woven into the fabric of Cuban national identity. A sightseeing tour of Cardenas rounds off the day.

You'll begin with a visit to Arrechabala Rum Factory to observe the age-old process of creating Cuba's national drink. See first-hand the machinery and equipment used in its production and take a tour of the ageing cellars. There'll also be some tasting, too.

Then, a trip through the sugarcane fields leads you to Cardenas, a city famed for its unusual contemporary public art. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the colonial-era old town before breaking for lunch in a nearby restaurant. In the afternoon, you'll visit a famous cigar emporium in Varadero, followed by a rum and cigar pairing session with a connoisseur. It really couldn't get any more Cuban than this.
