Private Nørrebro neighborhood explorer tour

Description

This private tour will help you experience the true essence of Copenhagen by taking you on a trip to the trendy neighbourhood of Nørrebro. Formerly a working class district, the area has now blossomed into a multi-cultural smorgasbord of funky design shops, diverse restaurants and achingly cool dive bars. It is one of the most densely populated areas in Denmark, home to artists, foodies and a host of quirky start-ups. Alternative culture thrives here amongst the 55 nationalities that call Nørrebro home. After meeting your guide, you will head over to the bus stop to jump on the legendary Nørrebro ’5C’ bus and make your way to one of the most diverse parks in the world. Resembling a mini ’World Expo,’ the park celebrates the diversity of the local population, displaying artwork and artifacts inspired by countries around the world. Many of the items on display were chosen by the community of Nørrebro as symbols of their heritage. You will have the opportunity to explore a crashed airplane and have a go on the famous Japanese octopus slide as you traverse playgrounds and green spaces to get a taste of how the Danes like to have fun. You will also get a feel for the city’s proud cycling culture as you walk the traffic-free streets of the district. No tour in Copenhagen is complete without a nod to its gloriously exciting and progressive food scene, so you will make a stop for a very special treat to keep those energy levels high. Make sure you bring your appetite for adventure as you indulge in this cultural exploration. There will be plenty of opportunities to see and find the hip, the quaint and the unusual! Whether you’re buying a souvenir in one of the many quirky concept stores or looking to discover inspiring works of art amongst the urban sprawl, Nørrebro has it covered. The tour ends on a historic note at the attractive Assistens Cemetery, home to one of Denmark’s most famous sons and writer of your favourite fairytales, Hans Christian Andersen. Copenhagen is a city of contrasts and you will have the chance to experience them all through the eyes of a local, to get the most out of your stay in this exciting city.
