Operational notes: Day 1: Arrival before 2PM is required. The High Mountain Museum is closed on Mondays. Due to the closure of Cabildo (TUE) and Mercado de San Miguel (SUN), the points of interest to visit will be modified. Day 3: The Vine and Wine Museum closes on Mondays. Day 5: The Pucara de Tilcara closes on Mondays. To keep in mind: • During the rainy season, DEC-MAR. The itinerary may be affected • Due to the altitude, atmospheric pressure and reduction of oxygen of the Puna, we recommend that people with respiratory, cardiac or pressure diseases, take special care. Day 1 Salta. Arrival and reception at Salta’s airport and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, the city of Salta awaits us to explore it by walking through its streets, churches and colonial buildings. On the way, we visit the MAAM (High Mountain Archeology Museum), responsible for spreading and preserving the ‘Children of Llullaillaco’, one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the last decades. Maximum altitude: 1152 MASL (3.779 ft.) Day 2 Salta / Cafayate. B Departure from Salta to start our trip through Calchaquíes Valleys. During the trip, we stop at Del Obispo Slope, Tin Tin Straight and Los Cardones National Park. In Cachi, we have time for lunch (not included) and to walk around the town. Then, we continue towards Cafayate through National Route 40, passing by enchanting towns such as Seclantas, Angastaco and Molinos, apart from amazing De Las Flechas Gorge, a curious rocky formation. Arrival at Cafayate. Travelled distance: 320 km (199 miles) Travel time: 12 hours Maximum altitude: 3348 MASL (10.984 ft.) Day 3 Cafayate / Salta .B In the morning, we visit the city and after lunch (not included), we drive to Salta, visiting De las Conchas Gorge, characterized by its curious formations such as the Amphitheatre and the Devil’s Throat, product of wind and water erosion. Arrival at Salta and accommodation. Total distance: 197 km (122 miles) Travel time: 8 horas Maximum altitude: 1683 MASL (5.522 ft.) Day 4 Salta / Purmamarca. B Early in the morning, we travel along Del Toro Gorge to discover the town of San Antonio de Los Cobres and explore part of the Train to the Clouds’ trail. After lunch (not included), we continue through Jujuy’s Puna until Salinas Grandes Salt Flat, the third largest in the world. Then, descend by the Cuesta de Lipán to Purmamarca, where is located the well-known De los Siete Colores Hill. Accommodation. Total distance: 320 km (198 miles) Travel time: 10 hours Maximum altitude: 4170 MASL (13.681 ft.) Day 5 Purmamarca / Salta. B Today we explore Humahuaca Gorge which is a Natural and Cultural Heritage Site, visiting typical and colorful villages such as Tilcara, Uquía and Humahuaca. On the way back to Salta, we stop at Maimará to admire the Painter’s Pallete. Total distance: 308 km (191 miles) Travel time: 10 hours Maximum altitude: 3012 MASL (9.882 ft.) Day 6 Salta. B At due time, transfer to the airport. Maximum altitude: 1152 MASL (3.779 ft.) Notes: Private entry transfers with guide. Exit transfer without guide. Day 1: The Walking tour is not available on Sundays due to the closure of Mercado San Miguel and Mondays due to the closure of the Museo de Alta Montaña. If only these days are available, it will be replaced by a private classic visit. Day 2 to 5: Allowed baggage. Only one carry-on suitcase is allowed on all trips that stay overnight outside the city of Salta. Private Service Includes transfer to the meeting point of the walking city tour for passengers staying more than 500 meters from the starting point. Regular Service Transfer to the meeting point for the walking tour is the responsibility of the passenger.

Pricing, Inclusions & Exclusions
  • Prices are per person unless stated otherwise, and may change at any time until your booking confirmation is issued.
  • The Inclusions and Exclusions listed on this page are specific to this tour — anything not listed under Inclusions is excluded from the price.
  • Prices exclude local taxes, charges, gratuities, food and beverages, and transfers unless expressly stated otherwise. Gratuities are entirely at your discretion.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Student and senior (60+) pricing requires valid ID at the time of booking and on the day of travel.
  • Group tariffs may be available for parties of 10 or more — contact us for a quote.
Amendments & Cancellations
  • Amendments to this booking can be made by contacting us at least 96 hours before the departure date.
  • Cancellation notice must be received at least 1 week before departure, otherwise a 100% cancellation charge applies.
  • Theatre tickets, dining products, and overnight tours cannot be amended or cancelled unless otherwise stated at the time of booking.
  • For health or pandemic-related cancellations, options may include a travel credit voucher, rebooking on flexible dates, or a full refund, subject to the specific product's conditions.
  • If you miss a coach tour through no fault of 1860 Travels, no refund will be issued; a discounted rebooking rate may be offered as a gesture of goodwill.
Refunds & Compensation
  • If a venue cannot be visited during the tour due to unforeseen circumstances, a partial refund of the admission value may be issued at our discretion.
  • No refund is given for non-operational air conditioning or washroom facilities on an assigned vehicle.
  • Refund requests cannot be accepted more than 30 days after the tour's completion.
  • Approved refunds are processed within 15–20 working days via the original payment method.
  • Third-party tours where 1860 Travels acts as an agent are non-refundable and subject to the supplier's own terms.
Payment
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise specified.
  • We accept Visa and MasterCard and charge no service fee, though your card issuer may apply its own charges.
  • Customer payments are held in a dedicated client money trust account until your booking is completed or cancelled.
